So who are we?
We are Furusato, which basically means no matter where you are, it’s about where your heart is. So what does that mean?
To us it means our goal, we are a company that strives beyond any other “finite goal”.
We don’t necessarily want to be better than any other company nor do we want to win at something”.
Our goal is to create a legacy which shows everyone that you can start with nothing, but the important thing is to look at the bigger picture. We are inspired by our parents, grandparents and so many more. Especially those who fled their country for some reason. Forced to leave everything behind and start anew in a foreign country. Unfamiliar with the language and culture. Left with no tools to start out with. Yet they managed to pick up their lives and even start a new life. A family.
Did they miss their country? Of Course they did. They still do. But what kept them going was their mindset to go forward. To seek that path towards fulfillment instead of victory. As Simon Sinek would say, they focused on the infinite game instead of the finite game. Meaning they opt for the long game in which they focus on getting happy and fulfilled instead of getting rich. To them gaining wealth was a side effect not a goal.
What we stand for?
So we at Furusato strive for the same thing. In a different setting. We try to create this legacy which revolves around fulfillment instead of victory. And we’re trying to do this together with anyone who’s willing to join us and support us.
Our company might not be the biggest or the wealthiest. Even worse our team currently revolves around three members. But to us it’s the most satisfying way to send a message. As a company we try not to compare who has a better product. Most would try to think outside the box to advance their company to new heights. We try to look past the box. We try to challenge ourself and strive to outdo ourselves.
Community
So how are we going to work towards this concept of fulfillment. First of all we try to communicate through our work and our products. We create products with our hearts. Meaning we push ourselves beyond our limit just to reach that level where we feel satisfied. Sounds simple right? So how are we different from other companies. Simple we don’t compare. We realize there will always be a better product. So if you try to compete with other companies there will always be a winner and a loser. Which does not benefit anyone.
Instead we look to develop our company, our products and our brand and our community. We try to create a family where everyone can start looking ahead. Doesn’t matter where you are (right now), it’s where the heart is.
Creativity
So currently we’re releasing a clothing brand. We want to spread the word by selling a product that we love ourselves. So we decided to go for an organic oversized T-shirt as our first product. Why? Simply because all three of us are obsessed with those. We are inspired by the old Chinese roman called “The journey to the west”. Some of you might recognize it from their youth. It’s an adventure story which can be interpreted in many ways. The story gives an insight to enlightenment and it revolves around the path towards enlightenment. We took this story and applied it to our own. The story of our relatives were of those who made a journey to the west. Refugees looking for a home, trying to find that safe haven where they can start settling. In the end we just want to create a place where everybody can belong.
